Ryan Riesterer

Riesterer Law Founder Ryan Riesterer graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy. He went on to attend The College of William and Mary – Marshall Wythe Law School, where he earned his law degree. During law school, Ryan clerked for the City of Cleveland Prosecutor’s Office and the Office of the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.

After graduation, Ryan worked for the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) as Regulatory Counsel and a registered lobbyist. NAMB is has represented the interests of mortgage professionals and homebuyers since 1973. During his time in house, he was responsible for reviewing and analyzing legislative and regulatory proposals, helping develop policy positions, and advocating on behalf of the Association before Congress, federal agencies, and other industry trade groups. He also drafted Congressional testimony, comment letters to federal agencies, legislative language in support of the Association’s policy goals, and helped prepare witnesses for Congressional hearings.

Ryan has been at the forefront of representing mortgage companies of all sizes for over a decade. Ryan founded Riesterer Law in 2008 in order to utilize his years of experience in the mortgage industry to assist mortgage companies and trade associations. Since beginning his legal career in the mortgage industry, he has gained a deep industry understanding which keeps his clients informed, compliant with regulations, and conducting business. In addition to his extensive mortgage industry experience, Ryan works with a variety of businesses, including trade associations, nonprofits, startups, and political action committees.

In his tenure as outsourced general counsel for multiple entities, Ryan keeps clients informed of current legislative and regulatory issues in their industries, preparing them for impending law changes. He is highly regarded for his skills in public policy, legislative relations, and government affairs. No matter the issue, Ryan and his team always deliver superior advice and creative solutions to help their clients thrive.
